You’ve had a hard day at work, you’re really tired, frustrated and upset with how things went at the office!
Suddenly you feel extreme pain in your chest, and it starts to spread into your arm and up your neck to your jaw.
You’re not close to a hospital or a fire station and you don’t know if you could get there quickly enough?
You’ve had CPR training classes but your instructors never taught you how to perform CPR on yourself!
CAN YOU NOW SURVIVE ON YOUR OWN …… ?
Since heart attacks creep up on many people while they are alone what do you do? You’re feeling faint, your heart is beating irregularly, and you have only 10 seconds before you will begin to lose consciousness!
If this happens you can begin coughing repeatedly, and very vigorously! Take a deep breath before each cough, and each cough should be deep and prolonged, as though you were trying to get sputum out from deep down in your lungs.
A breath and cough must be repeated every two seconds, continuously, with purpose, until someone who can help arrives or until you feel a positive regular normal heartbeat begins to return.
Deep breaths get oxygen into your lungs and the heavy coughing squeezes the heart and keeps the blood flowing.
The squeezing 2 second pressure action helps maintain the normal heart rhythm.
These actions may keep a heart functioning long enough to get you to a hospital.
Please share or pass this on to your friends and family! Someone, someday will benefit from being aware of this life saving technique!
