1. What does natural mean?

We use the term natural to describe our products as all the ingredients in our creams and lotion are derived from plants. We investigate each ingredient to ensure firstly it is beneficial to the skin and secondly it is of high quality and as fresh as possible. Fresh ingredients retain the natural vitamins, anti-oxidants and/or other benefits that occur naturally.

2. What is Hemp Oil?

Hemp Oil is technically Hemp Seed Oil, it is an oil extracted from the seed of cannabis sativa. Hemp Seed Oil is naturally rich in vitamins A, C, E & D as well as Omegas 3, 6 & 9, and a beneficial amount of amino acids.

3. Why is Hemp Oil good for the skin?

The skin is quite porous and readily absorbs substances that are applied to it. This means both good and bad things can be absorbed. Hemp seed oil is naturally nourishing and regenerating for the skin and is also a soothing, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant. Hemp Seed Oil is absorbed into the skin helping to lock in moisture.

4. Will it help dry skin?

Studies have shown that with regular use, Hemp Seed Oil reduces the problems of dry itchy skin which in turn can relieve symptoms of eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis.
NOTE: Hemp Seed Oil is not suited to those suffering from Rosacea as the highly nourishing and regenerating properties of the oil may stimulate the condition.

5. Is Hemp Oil legal?

Yes Hemp Seed Oil is quite legal. It is grown commercially and is now available through many suppliers, including health food shops. Hemp Seed Oil is approved in New Zealand as an edible oil, however the application for approval within Australia has yet to be finalised.

6. Does Hemp Oil contain THC?

THC is the ingredient associated with illegal drugs. Commercial hemp is gown for both oil and fibre production, it is low in THC and has no drug related effect. Hemp seed oil is widely available within the community as it becomes more and more popular as a cosmetic ingredient.

7. Do you use artificial fragrances?

An artificial fragrance is a synthetic chemical compound designed to smell a certain way. At OR natural we only use essential oils which are natural plant extracts.

8. Do you use preservatives?

Yes we use preservatives but have been careful to select preservatives that are both natural and a benefit the skin.  Preservatives are important as they prevent the development of bacteria and/or mould in cosmetic products.

9. What other things do you put in your products?

Other ingredients include a range of natural oils, waxes, butters and added vitamins that benefit the skin. These include for example Evening Primrose Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Olive Oil, Olive Squalane, Shea Butter and Aloe Vera.

10. What is the difference between your day and night cream?

Day Cream is designed to be both nourishing and moisturising while being a lighter than the Night Cream making it more suited to wear under cosmetics. The Day Cream also contains additional antioxidants to help protect the skin against the environment during the day.

The Night Cream is extra nourishing, moisturising and rejuvenating, this extra rich cream is designed to deliver these additional benefits during the night. Some of our customers with extremely dry skin, also use the Night Cream during the day.
